My name is Audrey Brigando:

Born and raised in Bryan, Texas

Graduated from Bryan High School, Class of 1991

Attended Blinn College

Graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Stephen F. Austin State University

Earned a Master of Arts in Psychology, Stephen F. Austin State University​​
My interest in becoming a Bryan ISD Board member:
-
As both a former Bryan ISD student and now as a parent in that district, I've seen firsthand the importance of investing in our schools.
-
I wholeheartedly believe that investing academically and socially in the students should be the foundation of the educational system.
-
I also believe supporting teachers, not only helps each student reach their academic and personal goals, it also strengthens our entire community.

I want to ensure that Bryan ISD becomes the first choice for education.

Family:

I am a proud mother of four sons in a blended family, all of whom have benefited from Bryan ISD.

My oldest two of my sons are also graduates of Bryan High School. (One is graduate of Texas A&M Corpus Christi and the other is enrolled at Texas A&M University.)

My youngest two of my children are currently enrolled in Bryan ISD schools, in 8th grade (Davila) and 5th grade (Jane Long).
Professional Experience:

I have twenty-five years experience in the behavioral health field.

I have twenty years of experience teaching Psychology: currently with Sam Houston State University and Blinn College.

I have fifteen years experience working in administrative leadership at Psychiatric Acute Care and Residential facilities.

I also have twenty years of experience working with Community Outpatient Clinics.

I have five years experience working with Promises Behavior Health Treatment Centers, currently I serve as the Corporate Director of the Utilization Review Department. ​

As a clinician I am committed to providing client-centered therapy to foster a supportive environment conducive to healing and growth.

As a mother I focus on teaching accountability, self-esteem, community involvement and compassion to my children.

My hope and mission is to actively engage with the community, address parent concerns, and advocate for policies that prioritize the educational needs of students. Through collaboration and open dialogue, we can aim to foster an environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.

My vision is to create a supportive and inclusive educational ecosystem within Bryan ISD. This can ensure that every student receives the resources, support, and guidance they need to excel academically and holistically. I envision a future where the community and Bryan ISD are actively involved in shaping an exceptional educational experience for all students.
